No New Posts APPLYING, ACCEPTED/DENIED CHARACTERS.

when you've read all of the rules, come here. you need to pick one of the secrets on the "canon list" (no preset faces) for your character and then fill out the application. it's a new and unique type of application - it's kind of fun, actually, no long, strenuous writing. the sub-boards of denied and accepted characters are located here as well.

another universal communication: myspace! we've all got one. you can be an adult, a teen, or anyone else, this is free for anyone. around here we keep our profiles private to friends, though, because open profiles are for unsafe losers!

No New Posts MEMORIES, FLASHBACKS.

sometimes it is good to roleplay out a scene in the past so you can better understand your character. if you would like to do that: sometimes it's just a first/third (specific to your character) account and sometimes it may be with another roleplayer on the site.

No New Posts PLACE BELLECOUR.

pronounced like "plah-sss" it's a regular sized place in a central spot. it's right next to the rue république and right near rue victor hugo, down the street from the saône river's bridge. there is a ferris wheel right on the side of it and a pretty statue also sitting right smack dab in the middle. it's dusty, but it's a great meeting place and it's right across from nearly everything. it's the best place for most things to take place.

No New Posts PLACE DE TERREAUX.

much like the above place, but less central. it also has a large fountain, but it's full of rubbish. the water's kind of dirty, but the first sight is pretty amazing. another beautiful aspect is that sometimes there are large platforms that shoot out water like a different form of fountain.

right on the place de terreaux. full of all kinds of art, current exhibit changing frequently. it's a relaxing, quiet environment.

No New Posts RUE DE LA REPUBLIQUE.

the central lane for everything! you'll find a variety of shops - mainly cafés and clothing shops (along with monoprix.) there are people bustling about the streets and there's nearly never a moment when anything is quiet. there is usually a marching band playing famous tunes or some kind of event. there is also a fountain that sinks about a foot into the ground with water shooting out in a long row on either side. rue de la république has nearly everything.

No New Posts RUE VICTOR HUGO.

basically the exactly same thing with extra crazy birds and minus the fountain. there are more jewelry and clothing shops, however, and the content is sometimes less or more pricey: always one or the other.

No New Posts PERFECT PANORAMA POINT.

this is the highest point in lyon. after going up the funicular you can either walk up the side of the mountain or go all of the way up and then you can see virtually all of the city! there are red roofed buildings, rivers and even a huge ferris wheel to look at. it's quite serene. it can be a lover's point, a place of serenity, a place to rest, or even a field trip for little kids. overall, it's just really beautiful. plus, there's a little café for you to buy a little something from or you can sit at the benches.

No New Posts THE FUNICULAR.

the funicular takes people from the bottom of the city (in the old city) to the top of the mountain. it is a railroad cart-esque ride that is pulled by a cable up the side. once it stops you can just jump off and go. it takes around five or ten minutes to get up, but sometimes you can get stuck waiting for the next funicular for at least twenty minutes. some people might just sit around on the down hill slant.

No New Posts BASILISQUE NOTRE-DAME-DE-FOURVIERE.

probably the coldest place in lyon, but only because of the naturally cold conditions of a church. it's quiet and you can just go and sit or be crazy little kids. maybe you need to have an important conversation and you need some peace to sit in? well, this church is the place. it's beautifully structured with a golden, huge statue on top.

No New Posts THE RHONE AND SAONE RIVERS.

the rhône and saône are the two main rivers that run through lyon. they are, however, located on the two opposite sides of the city. on the other side of the saône is the "old city." on the edge of the rhône? a public swimming pool.

No New Posts MUSEE INTERNATIONAL DE LA MINIATURE.

the internation museum of miniatures - a full museum with a large courtyard that winds up stone stairs. there is a basement filled with wax characters from "la parfum" and as you move up you see things made in the very museum by one man who stays in his studio to work endlessly on the small, finely detailed pieces of artwork.

No New Posts THE ZOO.

it's a free park, but with animals! about a fifteen minute subway ride away from the center of lyon, this is a great place to go with friends. there's giraffes, monkeys, deer, goats, elephants, zebras, tigers...so many great things to see! there are also expansive greens and a large, blue lake with access to boats.

probably the only irish pub ever in lyon, let alone france. johnny walsh's pub is run by a french man and all of the servers are french. it's that similar environment, though - crazy drunks, cooky young teenagers, but you'll find a lot more respect and responsible people here. it's the perfect place for a night out on the town.

No New Posts LA MARQUISE.

a night club open from ten pm to five am. lots of drinks and hardly any admission fee, this is the place to be! there's rooms to be bought and beating music to dance to. there's probably some illegal stuff going on, but if security (the one's who actually will kick you out for that kind of thing) finds you...well, tsk tsk.

No New Posts BRIOCHE DOREE.

brioche dorée is considered fast food. it's a bunch of fresh bread sandwiches with tasty selections, pasteries, baguettes, and drinks. it's a quick stop when you're walking by or it can also be a nice sit down lunch. it usually closes a little early and is probably no place to go for dinner. whatever, it's pretty comfortable.

No New Posts GENERAL CAFES.

lyon (and the rest of france) is abundant with cafés! they sell pasteries/etc and are always ready to make a cup of coffee (un café) or a hot chocolate (un chocolat chaud) at any time. it's easy to only pay a few euros and take a sit down in one of the quaint, small cafés of lyon.

literally "the south." on top of having typical, traditional french cuisine, this fancy restaurant has many southern foods (north african and south french). the food is generally all quite delicious.

No New Posts MCDONALDS.

pretty self explanatory, no? mcdonalds is the home of the walkthrough window and the greasiest food you've ever eat. the soda has extra syrup and the icecream is extra thin. most people still find all of the food disgustingly delicious, though, and most of those people are...everyone in lyon. the coffee's pretty decent, though. good luck with that.

No New Posts MONOPRIX.

it's definitely not a mall, but it's almost the equivalent in lyon. located on rue de la république, it is your central grocery, shopping, food pick-up, and convenience store. it's really just a big ol' department store. on the lowest floor (or basement) is a very large grocery store. on the ground floor (or first floor in american terms) is a makeup and clothing store. on the first floor (second floor american terms) is a large section of drinks and premade food options, and lastly on the second (or third floor in american terms) floor is a large convenience store.

No New Posts RUE VICTOR HUGO SHOPS.

virtually the same description as that of the rue république shops, but this is rue victor hugo! there are a few food shops and a lot of discount, pretty plastic jewelry places. a few high class shops rim the streets as well. it is very easy to spend many euros here, just like on rue république.

No New Posts PHARMACIES.

when you see the little green flashing plus sign, you know what you've found - a pharmacie! pharmacists, like doctors, can prescribe you what you need to be taking if you just walk into the store. they're quaint little shops, but they kind of smell like hand sanitizer. it's super sterile.

No New Posts TABAC.

there are practically a billion and five of these little shops in lyon. they sell a variety of cigarettes and also have lots of touristy trinkets and are jam-packed with tabloid magazines. you better be eighteen if you want to come in or at least make sure you aren't going to get carded for your age.
